ted by a cable t o t h e select or lever sh aft in t he

cont a ct is oper at ed by a ca m loca ted in the t ra n s-

sensor. Wh en the P /N cont act swit ch is open ed in
park a nd neut ra l, the TCM senses a h igh tr an smis-

tem per at u re (t o avoid set tin g a DTC). Th e TCM
sends a h ar dwir ed sign al t o th e E CM th a t will a llow

ECM to confir m t he P/N swit ch st at u s.
Th e N o rm a l Tr a n s m i s s i o n Te mp er a ture S e ns o r
re sistan ce is be twe en 500.0 an d 2500.0 oh ms.
Th e no r m a l v o lt a g e li m i t s fo r t h e t ra n s mi s -
sion temperature sensor, are between 0.5 and
3.0 volts .

Th e NAG1 t ra n sm ission h as t wo in pu t speed sen -
sor s N2 a n d N3, both speed sen sor s a r e loca ted on
th e va lve body a nd r epor t DTCs for t he in pu t speed
sensor s er r ors. Th e speed sen sor s a re H all E ffect
speed sen sor s t h at a re u sed by t he TCM t o calcu la t e
th e tr a nsmission s in pu t speed. Sin ce t h e in pu t
speed could n ot be m ea su r ed dir ect ly, two of t he
drive elements ar e m easu red. Two inpu t speed
sensor s were r equ ir ed beca u se both dr ive elem ent s
ar e n ot a ctive i n all gea r s. The in pu t sen sor s N2 a n d
N3 will r eport t he sa m e in pu t speed in gea rs 2n d,
3r d or 4t h . If t he N2 a nd N3 in pu t speed sign a ls a r e
not t h e sa me in t h ese gea rs t hen t h er e is a n issu e
wit h t he t r an sm ission a n d t h e DTC In pu t Sen sor s
Mism a tch will be set .
