RAMP ANGLE
If a vehicle with fla t-bed t owing equipm ent is u sed,
the a pproach ramp an gle sh ould not exceed 15
degrees.
TOWING WHEN KEYS ARE NOT AVAILABLE
When the vehicle is locked an d keys are not avail-
able, use a flat bed hauler. A Wh eel-lift or Sling-type
device can be used pr ovided all th e wheels are lift ed
off the grou nd usin g tow dollies.

mended. Th e use of such additives may affect the
warr anty right s. With regar d to lega l stipu lations
concern ing emissions cont rol, please n ote th at
engines have to be serviced a nd adjusted in accor-

measu ring equipment. Modifications to or interfer-
ence with the emission s con trol systems ar e not per-

REGULAR CHECK - UPS
To m aintain the safe operation of the vehicle, it is
recomm ended tha t t he followin g tasks be perfor med
on a regular basis (i.e. weekly or whenever th e vehi-
cle is refueled). Ch eck:
• Engine oil level

• Ba tter y - a cid level
• Windshield washer system a nd hea dlam p clea n-

Coolant
Corrosion inhibit or/ant ifreeze concen tration in th e
coolan t should be checked before the onset of wint er
(once year in countries with high preva iling temper-
atures).
Replace th e coolant every five years or 100,000
miles.
Dust Filter for Heating / Ventilation Replacement
The dust filter a nd th e ta ilgate in terior filter ar e to
be renewed du ring rou tine ma int enan ce ser vice. If
operat ing conditions are dusty, these filt ers sh ould be
renewed more frequen tly.
ENGINE OIL CHANGE AND FILTER REPLACEMENT
At a min imu m, ch ange t he engine oil and oil filter
once a yea r – even if t he veh icle m ileage per year is
extr emely low. For standa rd oil service schedu les
refer to t he cha pter oil service a nd maintenan ce ser-
vice.

Select the viscosity of the engine oil (SAE classes)
according t o the outside air temper ature.
