Components and configuration
3. Components and configuration
The GIC-600AE contains several major components that use an internal GIC interconnect to route
the AXI4-Stream interfaces between the different components. A configuration parameter controls
the hierarchy of the GIC components.
The components are:
•
Distributor
•
Redistributor
•
Interrupt Translation Service (ITS)
•
MSI-64 Encapsulator
•
SPI Collator
•
Wake Request
•
GIC interconnect
The hierarchy of the GIC components can be a single combined block that uses a dedicated AXI4-
Stream interconnect or a set of individual blocks that are interconnected using your own transport
layer.
3.1 Distributor
The Distributor is the main communication point between all GIC-600AE blocks. It performs SPI
management and LPI caching, and all communications with other blocks and chips.
The following figure shows the Distributor and its interfaces.
