1 Enter the name that you want to use for the contact, then press (Add Call).
The HF Network entry is highlighted.
The HF network defines the call system and self address that is used by your
station when the call is made. For example, if you are using a Selcall HF
network, you must select a channel for the call. If you are using an ALE/CALM
HF network, you may either select a channel or let the transceiver select a
channel for the call.
1 Press or to select the HF network that you want to use.
1 Press to move to the Call Type entry.
1 Press or to select the call type that you want to use.
NOTE: The call type that you select affects information that you can
enter for the remainder of this call.
1 If you are adding:
a Selective, Channel Test, Emergency, Get Position or Send Position call,
continue from Adding a simple call on page 165
a Message call, continue from Adding a Message call on page 165
a Phone call, continue from Adding a Phone call on page 167
a Get Status call, continue from Adding a Get Status call on page 167
an RFDS Emergency call, continue from Adding an RFDS Emergency
