STAN DARD PROCEDU RE
POWER STEERING PUMP FILL AND BLEED
PROCEDURE
(1) Remove th e cap from the fluid reser voir.
Ch ec k c a p s ea l fo r d a m a g e a n d r e p la c e if
needed.
(2) Fill th e power steerin g pump wit h a ppr oved
fluid (Refer to LUBRICATION & MAINTENANCE /
FLUID TYPES - DESCRIP TION). Do not fill fluid
beyond the MAX mark.
(3) Raise the vehicles fr ont wheels off th e ground.
(4) With th e engine off turn the steerin g wheel
from right t o left . Perform this step until all the
bubble formations can no longer be seen in the
power steering reservoir.
(5) St art the engine and tu rn th e steerin g wheel
with the engine at idle speed then shut the engine off
and check for correct oil level and no bubble in th e
system.
(6) Reinstall power steer ing cap tight ly.
(7) Test t he system for leaks and proper opera tion.
FLU I D COOLER T U BE
REMOVAL
(1) Siphon as mu ch power st eering fluid as possi-
ble ou t of the reservoir.
(2) Remove the gr ille (Refer to 23 - BODY/EXTE-
RIOR/GRILLE - REMOVAL).
(3) Remove the left headlight a ssem bly.
(4) Disconn ect the retur n l ines fr om th e cooler
tube.
(5) Remove the radiator clips (2).
(6) Remove t he hea t shield bolt for th e t urbo at
the cor e support.
(7) Remove the right hea dlight assem bly.
(8) Remove th e core support bolts (4) a nd discon-
nect th e hood la tch cable.
(9) Remove the fa n bracket bolts (4) to th e r adiator
(Fig. 2).
(10) Remove the t wo upper screws for the con-
denser (Fig. 2).
(11) Remove the condenser a ir dam shield.
(12) Remove t he m ounting screws for the cooler
tube (Fig. 2).
(13) Remove th e cooler tube from t he vehicle.
INSTALLATION
(1) In st all the cooler tube to the vehicle.
(2) In st all the cooler t ube m ounting screws (Fig.
2).
(3) In st all the condenser a ir dam shield.
(4) In st all the condenser u pper mou nting screws
(Fig. 2).
(5) In st all the fa n bra cket bolt s to the radiator
(Fig. 2).
