Pressing Tool 8901 (1) (Fig. 96) on out er multiple
disc.
(8) Usin g a lever press, compress pr essing t ool as
far as the stop (then t he markin g rin g is st ill visible,
see small a rrow).
(9) For transmission s using double sided fr iction
discs, use a feeler gauge t o determ ine the play “L”
(Fig. 97) a t thr ee points bet ween the sna p-r ing (8)
and outer multiple-disc (2).
(10) During th e m easurem ent the sna p-r ing (8)
must con tact t he upper bea ring surfa ce of t he gr oove
in the outer m ultiple-disc carrier.
(11) The corr ect clutch clearance for tran sm issions
with double sided frict ion discs is 2.3-2.7 m m (0.091-
0.106 in.) for three friction disc versions, 2.4-2.8 mm
(0.095-0.1 10 in.) for four disc versions, and 2.5-2.9
mm (0.099-0.114 in.) for five disc versions.
(12) Adjust with snap-rin g (8), if necessar y. Sn ap-
rings a re available in thickn esses of 2.0 mm (0.079
in.), 2.3 mm (0.091 in.), 2.6 mm (0.102 in.), 2.9 mm
(0.114 in .), 3.2 mm (0.126 in.), an d 3.5 m m (0.138
in.).
(13) For tr ansmissions u sing single sided friction
discs, use a feeler gauge t o determ ine the play “L”
(Fig. 98) a t thr ee points bet ween the sna p-r ing (7)
and outer multiple-disc (2).
(14) During th e m easurem ent the sna p-r ing (7)
must con tact t he upper bea ring surfa ce of t he gr oove
in the outer m ultiple-disc carrier.
(15) The correct clutch clear ance for t ransmissions
with single sided fr iction discs is 2.3-2.7 mm (0.091-
0.106 in.) for six frict ion disc versions, 2.4-2.8 mm
(0.095-0.1 10 in.) for eight disc versions, and 2.5-2.9
mm (0.099-0.114 in.) for ten disc ver sions.
(16) Adjust with snap-rin g (7), if necessar y. Sn ap-
rings a re available in thickn esses of 2.0 mm (0.079
in.), 2.3 mm (0.091 in.), 2.6 mm (0.102 in.), 2.9 mm
