HOLDING CLUTCHES
DESCRIPTION
Three (Fig. 165) mu ltiple-disc holdin g clutches, th e
front, B1 (1), m iddle, B3 (4), and rear mu ltiple disc
clutches, B2 (5), a re l oca ted in th e planet ary gear
sets in the transmission housing.
A multiple-disc holding clu tch con sists of a num ber
of internally toot hed discs (10) on an internally
toothed disc carrier and exter nally toot hed discs (9)
on an ext erna lly toothed disc carrier, wh ich is rigidly
connect ed to th e transmission housing.
