and h elps to dissipate voltage spikes a nd electrom ag-
netic interfer ence th at can be gen erat ed as t he elec-
tromagnetic field of the r elay coil collapses.
The r ear blower mot or rela y terminals are con-
nected to t he vehicle elect rica l system through recep-
tacles in the relay block located in the rear A/C
evapor ator hou sing.
The rea r blower mot or rela ys cann ot be repaired
and, if fau lty or damaged, they must be replaced.
Refer to the appropriate wiring in forma tion for dia g-
nosis and testing of the ISO-st andard relay and for
complet e HVAC wiring diagram s.
REMOVAL
(1) Disconn ect and isolate the negat ive ba tter y
cable.
(2) Remove th e air filter from the rea r A/C evapo-
rator hou sing (Refer t o 24 - H EATING & AIR CON-
DITIONING/DISTRIBUTION - REAR/AIR F ILTER -
REMOVAL).
(3) Reach up int o the rear A/C evaporator hou sing
and r emove the rear blower motor relays as n eces-
sa ry fr om the r elay block (Fig. 12).
