BREAT H ER
DESCRIPTION
The cran kcase ven tilation breath er is a three
st aged, filtered, oil separatin g brea ther with a oil
retu rn pa ssa ge in to th e cylinder head cover (Fig. 2).
The oil separator removes oil from the blow by gasses
to redu ce MAF sensor cont aminat ion. F or service
pr ocedures refer to (Refer to 25 - EMISSIONS CON-
TROL/EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS/CCV
RESTRICTE R - REMOVAL).
REMOVAL
(1) Remove the engine cover.
(2) Disconn ect the breather outlet hose at t he
breather (Fig. 3).
(3) Remove the breather fasteners (Fig. 3).
(4) Wiggle the breat her fr ee from t he cylin der hea d
cover (Fig. 3).
