Use of the approved fluid is requ ired if the
ASSYST Oil Service Reminder is followed. Use of a
lower qu ality oil on th is service sch edu le m ay cause
severe engine dam age.
FUEL REQUIREMENTS - DIESEL ENGINE
WARNING: Do not use alcohol or gasoline as a fuel
blending agent. They can be unstable under certain
conditions and hazardous or explosive when mixed
with diesel fuel.
Use only commer cially a vailable vehicu lar diesel
fuels No. 2 or No. 1 (ASTM D 975 No. 2-D or No.
1-D).
NOTE: Because of its better quality, the manufac-
turer recommends the use of commercially avail-
able vehicular diesel fuel No. 2.
DIESEL FUELS FOR USE AT VERY LOW TEMPERA-
TURE
At very low tem perat ures, the flu idity of No. 2 die-
sel fu el m ay become in su fficien t due to pa raffin sep-
erat ion. For th is rea son, the veh icle comes equipped
with a fuel preh eater. It permits trou ble fr ee engine
operat ion to a tempera ture of approxima tely 14°F
(-10°C) wh en using No. 2 diesel fuel.
To avoid malfun ction s, No. 2 diesel fuel of a low-
ered cloud point is market ed du rin g the cold season.
At temper atu res below 14 °F (-10 °C) use winter-
ized or No. 1 diesel fu el only.
