(4) Unclip th e gu ides at the fram e cross mem bers
for the fr ont cable at the vehicle (Fig. 30).
(5) Pull off the locking clips at the floor opening
and pull the fron t brake cable down a nd ou t (Fig.
30).
(6) Press together t he locking ring an d pull out th e
front br ake cable to t he fron t (Fig. 30).
(7) Remove the front park bra ke cable at t he veh i-
cle using special tool 9289.
REMOVAL - REAR
(1) Raise and support the vehicle.
(2) Remove the rear t ires.
(3) Remove the pa rk brake sh oes.
(4) Remove t he pa rk brake cables fr om the shoe
(Fig. 31).
(5) Remove all th e connection s on th e han d brake
cable (Fig. 31).
(6) Remove the pa rk brake ca ble lock (Fig. 31).
Ob s e rv e t h e in s t a ll e d p o s i t io n o f the b ra k e
cable lock for reference on installation.
(7) Remove the ha nd br ake cable from the an chor
plate (Fig. 31).
(8) Remove the park brake ca ble from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION - FRONT
(1) In st all the front park br ake cable to the vehi-
cle.
(2) Clip th e cable gu ides at the fr ame cr oss mem -
bers (Fig. 32).
(3) In st all t he front park brake cable to the hand
brake lever (F ig. 29).
(4) Reconnect the front pa rk bra ke cable to t he
pu lley un it (Fig. 32).
(5) Adjust the parkin g park.
(6) Lower th e vehicle.
