(3) Turn the level sensor 90 degrees clockwise, lift
up and out of the con tainer (Fig. 4).
INSTALLATION
(1) Align coolant level sensor with coola nt
reservior access whole, pr ess down while tu rning
counter clockwise 90 degrees to seat sensor (Fig. 4).
(2) Connect coolant level sensor electrical connec-
tor (Fig. 4).
(3) Refill cooling system to proper level (Refer t o 7
- COOLING/E NGINE/COOLANT - STANDARD PRO-
CEDURE).
(4) In spect for leaks.
RADI AT OR FAN
REMOVAL
(1) Disconn ect the n egat ive battery cable.
(2) Detach coolant lin e from lower radiator shroud.
(3) The radiat or fan assem bly is attached
(threa ded) to th e water pump h ub shaft (Fig. 5).
Remove the fan blade/viscous fan drive assembly
from the wa ter pum p by turning the m ounting nut
counter clockwise as viewed from the fr ont. Threads
on t he radiator fan dr ive ar e R IGHT-HAN D . A36
MM Fa n Wren ch sh ould be used to prevent pulley
from rota tin g (Fig. 5).
(4) Remove radia tor fan shrou d an d ra diator fan .
(Fig. 5).
NOTE: Store the viscous fan clutch in the upright
position. DO NOT place down flat.
INSTALLATION
(1) In st all fan blade to viscous clutch . Tigh ten
bolts t o 9 N·m (80 lbs. in.). (Fig. 5).
(2) In st all fan an d clutch a long with fan shroud in
to engine bay area (F ig. 5).
(3) In st all th e center bolt of the viscous clutch .
Tighten bolt to 45 N·m (33 lbs. ft .). (Fig. 5)
(4) Attach coolant line to lower ra diator sh roud.
(5) Properly align and clip th e fan shr oud into
place.
(6) Connect nega tive bat tery cable.
EN GI N E BLOCK H EAT ER
REMOVAL
WARNING: Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to
scalding from hot coolant. Do not open the cooling
system unless the temperature is below 90°C
(194°F). Wear protective clothing and eye wear. Risk
of poisoning if coolant is swallowed. Store coolant
in proper and appropriately marked containers.
