lat ches on the switch body are fully enga ged.
(3) In st all the cluster bezel (Refer to 23 - BODY/
INSTRUMENT PANEL/CLUSTE R BEZEL -
INSTALLATION).
(4) Reconnect t he negat ive batt ery cable.

GRID LINE AND TERMINAL REPAIR
REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER GRID LINE REPAIR
WARNING: The repair kit contains epoxy resin and
amine type hardener which may cause skin or eye
irritation and can be harmful if swallowed. Use with
adequate ventilation. Do not use near fire or open
flame the contents contain flammable solvents.
Keep out of reach of children.
DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY, IF SWALLOWED
INDUCE VOMITING AND CALL A PHYSICIAN IMME-
DIATELY.
IF SKIN CONTACT OCCURS, WASH AFFECTED
AREAS WITH SOAP AND WATER.
IF EYE CONTACT OCCURS, FLUSH WITH
PLENTY OF WATER.
The repair of the gr id lines is possible using the
Mopar! Grid Line Repair P ackage or an equiva lent .
(1) Mask the repa ir a rea so t he conductive epoxy
can be extended onto the grid line(s) or the bu s ba r
(Fig. 9).
(2) Follow the instru ction s in the repair kit for
preparing th e da ma ged ar ea.
(3) Remove the package separator clam p a nd m ix
the conductive epoxy thor oughly. Fold in ha lf and cut
the center corner to dispense the epoxy.
(4) Apply the con ductive epoxy th rough th e slit in
the ma skin g t ape. Overlap both ends of the br eak(s)
by 19 mm (3/4 inch).
(5) Carefully r emove the masking ta pe from t he
grid lin e(s).
CAUTION: To prevent the glass from fracturing, do
not allow the glass surface to exceed 204° C (400°
F).
(6) Allow th e epoxy to cure 24 hou rs a t r oom t em-
perat ure or use a hea t gun with a 260° to 371° C
(500° to 700° F) range for 15 minut es. Hold th e hea t
gun approximat ely 254 mm (10 inches) from the
repaired area.
(7) After the conduct ive epoxy is properly cured,
verify oper ation of the rear window defogger.
REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER GRID TERMINAL REPAIR
CAUTION: Do not use a flame type solder gun or an
electric solder gun rated greater than 500 watts or
damage to the glass may occur.
If t he rear window defogger grid ter minal(s) is
da maged or separ ated from the rea r window, th e new
grid termina l(s) m ust be securely fasten ed to th e rea r
window defogger bus bar by soldering.
(1) If the grid ter min al(s) is br oken and a portion
of the terminal is still at tach ed to t he heating grid,
remove the port ion of the clip remainin g in the wir e
harness connector(s).
CAUTION: To prevent the glass from fracturing, do
not allow the glass surface to exceed 204° C (400°
F).
(2) If the grid ter min al(s) is br oken and a portion
of the ter minal is still att ached to th e rear window
defogger bus bar, apply hea t with a solder gu n to t he
por tion of the terminal on the glass un til th e solder
st arts to flow. Remove the term ina l and carefully
sm ooth the solder on the bus bar.
NOTE: Wait five minutes for the glass to cool after
applying heat with a solder gun before proceeding.
NOTE: Use care when cleaning the mating surfaces.
Excessive abrasion may wear away the copper grid
surface causing grid continuity to be lost.
(3) Clean the ma tin g su rfaces on the grid bus bar
and th e new t erminal(s) with 000 Extra Fin e St eel
Wool or a n equivalent .
