RIP card assembly removal
1. Remove the rear RIP card cover. See “Rear RIP card cover removal” on page 4-13.
2. Remove the RIP card chassis bracket. See “RIP card chassis bracket removal” on page 4-127.
3. Remove the hard drive. See “Hard drive removal” on page 4-128.
4. Remove the fax interface card assembly. See “Fax interface card assembly removal” on page 4-129.
5. Disconnect the seven connections from the RIP card assembly (A).
6. Loosen the two thumbscrews from the side of the RIP card chassis bracket (B).
7. Remove the six screws securing the RIP card assembly (A) to the face of the RIP card chassis bracket (B)
8. Remve the NVRAM card (C).
9. Remove the RIP card assembly (A).
Important: The replacement RIP card assembly does not contain a NVRAM card. Remove the NVRAM card
from the old RIP card and install on the replacement RIP card to restore the NVRAM settings..
CAUTION—POTENTIAL INJURY:
There is a danger of explosion if a lithium battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace it only with
the same or an equivalent type of lithium battery. Do not recharge, disassemble, or incinerate
a lithium battery. Discard used batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions and local
regulations.
