2. Adjust the voltage regulation E4A-91-100-000
Make sure that the engines are at full
operation coolant temperatures.
Set one engine at the cruising speed.
Adjust the voltage on the operating system
to 28 V at a typical electrical load.
Replace the screw set.
Refer to Fig. 24 - 51.
Switch off the first engine.
Switch on the second engine.
Ajdust the second system to the same
voltage at the same load and engine speed.
Only for twin-engine applications.
3. Adjust the alternator balancing E4A-91-100-000 (only for twin-engine
applications)
Compare the loads for the operation point of
the voltage regulation adjustment.
If it is necessary to pull the load division
closer together:
- Adjust lower the regulator of the
heavier loaded alternator
- Adjust higher the regulator of the
lower loaded alternator.
Do a test of the adjustment results:
- Turn on the heaviest loads available
- Change the engine speed.
To prevent significant brush wear
difference on both alternators, the
alternator load current shall be as equal
as possible.
A difference of less than 25 A is strongly
recommended.
After completion of the regulator
adjustment, fix the regulator set screws with
torque seal.
4. Replace Alternator-Regulator E4A-91-100-000
If it is necessary to replace the alternator regulator type E4A-91-100-000 with the alternator
regulator type E4A-91-200-000, replace also the wiring harness.
