B. Install the Cylinder Head
For engine model E4: Use cylinder head assembly E4A-12-R10-000 for
replacement.
For engine model E4P: Use cylinder head assembly E4PA-12-R10-000 for
replacement. Make sure you see no “EU5” mark on the cylinder head.
Or use cylinder head assembly E4A-12-500-000 for both engine models E4 / E4P
for replacement.
(a) Install the cylinder head sub-assembly on the crankcase

Turn the crankshaft in the TDC (top dead center)
position.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 111.
Make sure there are no scratches, cracks, or debris on the sealing surface of the
crankcase.
Make sure there is no damage on the cylinder head gasket.
Blow air through holes of the expansion bolts in the crankcase.
Water below the bolts can cause cracks in the crankcase.
Clean the combustion bowl and the piston head for each piston.

Clean the sealing surface of the crankcase.
Do not polish the surface of the cylinder head.
Do not use a cylinder head for a different engine.
