B. Install the Crankshaft Cover

Key Items/References
(1)
Clean the sealing ring contact surface on the
crankcase.
Use a cloth without fiber.
Make sure that the crankshaft cover is installed without any type of fluid or
lubricant.
(2)
Install the crankshaft cover with the mounting
sleeve.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 87 and Fig. 85 -
88.
(3)
Tighten the 6 screws at the crankshaft cover.
Torque 9 Nm.
Use Loctite 243.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 89.
(4)
Make sure that the horizontal alignment of the
crankshaft cover with the crankcase is correct.
Refer to the joints in Fig. 85 - 89.
(5)
Remove the mounting sleeve.
(6)
Clean the sealing surface for oil sump.
(7)
Apply engine sealing material at the joints.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 89.
The recommended engine sealing material is available at Austro Engine
GmbH.
Refer to the consumable list.
(8)
Use a new oil sump gasket.
Do not damage the crankshaft sensor!
(9)
Install the oil sump.
Refer to Section 79-10-00 Paragraph
3.B.
(10)
Install the two-mass flywheel.
Refer to Paragraph 5.B.
(11)
Install the gearbox.
Refer to Paragraph 4.B.
(12)
Install the engine on the aircraft.
Refer to the applicable Aircraft
Maintenance Manual.
(13)
Fill the engine oil.
Refer to Section 79-20-00 Paragraph
5.B.
(14)
Fill the coolant.
Refer to the applicable Aircraft
Maintenance Manual.
For coolant information refer to the Installation Manual E4.02.01.
(15)
Clean the working area.
(16)
Do an engine ground run.
Refer to Section 71-00-01.
(17)
Examine the engine fluid systems for leakage.
