02 Strorage and Preservation

D. Engine storage
This procedure applies for an installed engine intended to be uninstalled and stored.
Perform the engine preservation up to 6 months. Refer to Paragraph B - Preservation of
an installed engine.
Remove the engine from the aircraft. Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual.
Put the engine in suitable workplaces in a horizontal position, the cylinder axis must have
an angle of 34°.
Cover the engine with appropriate means against environmental influences.
It is recommended to use plastic bag to cover the engine.
It is recommended to keep the engine in its wooden box.
Store the engine in dry environment and never outside.
The relative humidity shall not be more than 70%.
It is recommended to use a silica bag.
The engine shall be stored in suitable workplaces in a horizontal position, the cylinder axis must
have an angle of 34°, always covered against environmental influences and never outside. For
further information, refer to the Installation Manual E4.02.01 Chapter 6 “Installation Position”.
