85-Maintenance Procedures
Use a support for the gearbox or lift the
gearbox with slings on the prop shaft.
Remove the 11 gearbox screws.
Four different types of
screws are used.
Make marks on the screws
for correct position before
you remove them.
Remove the gearbox with the optional
gearbox oil cooler (if installed) and the
connecting hose.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 22 and Fig. 85 - 23.
Remove the gearbox oil cooler.
Loosen the second spring band clamp, if
installed before, and remove the connecting
hose.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 22 and Fig. 85 - 23.
Refer to Section 85-60-00.
B. Install the Gearbox
If the gearbox is replaced because of high debris contamination, make sure
the debris is removed from the parts installed to the gearbox and operated
with gearbox oil (i.e. propeller, governor and feathering accumulator if
applicable).
For engine model E4P: Only use Gearbox E4A-70-000-000 Rev.110 or higher
for replacement.
First time installation of the gearbox is described in WI-OSB-E4-019 rev.3 or
higher.
Install the governor, if removed before.
Refer to Section 85-60-00.
Install the gearbox optional oil cooler, if not
specified differently.
Put the gearbox in place on the front side of
the engine.
Tighten the 11 screws on the gearbox.
Four different types of screws are used. Make sure that the screws are
installed related to the marking from the removal procedure.
Install the right and left front engine mounts
to the gearbox.
