Drill out the damaged thread with drill size (B).
Refer to Table 5 for the
recommended diameters to drill the
core hole (D
1HC
).
Use only pocket drills to cut the pocket holes.
(2)
Deburr the hole.
(3)
Clean the damaged thread.
Use compressed air to remove
grease, chips or contamination.
(4)
Cut the new thread in the hole until the end
stop or through, as applicable.
To obtain the necessary thread depth on pocket holes, remove the
remaining chips regularly.
(5)
Clean the thread.
Use compressed air to remove
grease, chips or contamination.
(6)
Install the insert on insertion mandrel.
Refer to Table 5 for the external
thread diameter of the insert.
