Fill a volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) lubricating liquid as a concentrate (e.g. FUCHS
ANTICORIT VCI UNI O 40) into each cylinder.
Refer to the product data sheet for the determination of the appropriate quantity. The
volume per cylinder, which needs to be protected, is 0.5 litres or 0.0005 cubic meters.
Disconnect the EECU to prevent failure entries at the starting procedure.
Reinstall the injectors or the glow plugs. Refer to Chapter 73 or Chapter 80.
V. Relieve the V-Ribbed belt tension:
Refer to Section 85-40-00 V-Ribbed Belt removal instructions.
Do not start the engine after V-Ribbed belt tension relieve.
VI. Seal all openings on the engine compartment.
VII. Store the engine either installed or uninstalled in a dry, protected place. Refer to Paragraph
C - Engine depreservation.
Engine preservation over 6 months
Contact Austro Engine GmbH for further instructions.
C. Engine depreservation
Remove all covers from the engine compartment openings.
Do not start the engine before the adjustment of the V-Ribbed belt tension.
Readjust the V-Ribbed Belt tension. Refer to Section 85-40-00.
Do an engine ground run. Refer to Section 71-00-01.
