(d) Install the camshafts
Replace the camshafts when you replace the cylinder head.
Camshafts can easily become damaged!
Install the front and rear camshaft bearing
bracket assemblies on the cylinder head.
Obey the marks on the gears when you install the camshafts.
The marks on the gears must be opposite. Thus, for the cylinder #1, the
ignition is set to TDC.
Carefully put the camshafts in position.
Put the camshaft locking tool in place on the
gears.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 117 and Fig.
85 - 118.
Put the front and the rear camshaft bearing
covers and the bracket on the camshafts.
Make sure you install the camshafts with no tension.
Do not tilt the camshafts.
Make sure that all bearings are in the same position as before disassembly.
Equally tighten the screws that attach the
bearing covers and the bracket.
