6. Engine carrier mounting gearbox
A. Repair the damaged threads
For repair, use a corrosion protective thread insert M8.
Minimum material requirements for threaded insert: stainless steel A2

Refer to Section 51-00-30 for threaded insert installation instructions.
Obey the instruction given for each thread position.
For sufficient wall thickness, install the threaded insert with a depth of 4 mm from the surface
into the damaged thread.
The bolt that attaches the engine mounting can be too short because of the larger
depth of the installed threaded insert.
Obey the bolts tightening depths measured from the mounting flanges:
Min.: 17 mm
Max.: 19 mm
Obey the instructions given in the applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manual.
If applicable, make a specification for necessary of a longer installation bolt at the
repaired thread in the authorised release certificate!
