I. Remove the Gearbox Temperature Sensor

Disconnect the electrical connector GBTS.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 35.
(2)
Remove the temperature sensor.
(3)
Discard the sealing ring.

If gearbox rev. 70 to rev. 90 is installed on an E4-B or E4-C engine, install the
GBTS above the gearbox oil filter.
For all other configuration, refer to Fig. 85 - 35.
A gearbox rev. 80 to rev. 90 cannot be installed on an E4-A engine.

Use a new sealing ring.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 35.
When using Loctite, make sure that the thread is free of grease.
Apply a thin film of Loctite.
(5)
Install the gearbox temperature sensor.
Apply Loctite 2701.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 35.
(6)
Tighten the gearbox temperature sensor.
Torque 15 Nm.
(7)
Connect the electrical connector GBTS.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 35.

Examine the wiring for damage.
If the wiring is damaged or too short, refer to Section 71-50-00.

Do an engine ground run.
Refer to Section 71-00-01.
(10)
Examine the gearbox oil system for leakage.
