B. Install the Exhaust Manifold

Key Items/References
(1)
Attach the turbocharger with new gasket to the
exhaust manifold.
Refer to Fig. 78 - 3.
(2)
Install the four screws that attach the exhaust
manifold to the turbocharger with conical
washers, spherical washers.
Use new nuts.
Refer to Fig. 78 - 6.
(3)
Equally tighten the four screws that attach the
exhaust manifold to the turbocharger.
Torque 30 Nm.
Refer to Fig. 78 - 3 and Fig. 78 - 5.

Install the exhaust manifold with the
turbocharger on the engine.
Refer to Fig. 78 - 3.
(5)
Use only new gaskets.
Refer to Fig. 78 - 5.
(6)
Tighten the exhaust manifold with eight new
nuts.
Torque 30 Nm.
Refer to Fig. 78 - 5.
(7)
Install the pick-up hose on the wastegate
controller and attach with a clip.
Refer to Fig. 78 - 1 and Fig. 78 - 2.

Identify the version of the hose routing:
- with banjo connection (discontinued
version)
- with installed grub screw (latest
version).
- For discontinued version: install the
banjo bolt with new sealing rings.
Torque 7 Nm.
- For latest version: make sure the
grub screw is correctly installed.
Refer to Fig. 78 - 1 and Fig. 78 - 2.
Make sure that no sand or dirt goes into the inlet connection of the
Turbocharger to prevent early Turbocharger failure.

Fill in approximately 1 cm³ engine oil.
Refer to Fig. 78 - 4.

Install the oil supply line from the
turbocharger.
Refer to Section 79-20-00 Paragraph
8.B.
(11)
Install the oil return line from the turbocharger.
Refer to Section 79-20-00 Paragraph
9.B.
(12)
Install the intake air hose on the turbocharger.
Refer to the applicable Aircraft
Maintenance Manual.
(13)
Install the exhaust pipe on the turbocharger.
(14)
Clean the working area.
(15)
Do an engine ground run.
Refer to Section 71-00-01.
(16)
Examine the exhaust system for leakage.
