G. Install the Brush Holder
Detail Steps/Work Items
Key Items/References

Carefully put the Brush Holder Assembly
E4A-91-410-000 onto the alternator.
Make sure that the guide rail of
alternator and brush holder are in
correct position.
Refer to Fig. 24 - 41.

Softly push the carbon brush into Brush
Holder Assembly and move Brush Holder
Assembly along the guide rail.
Refer to Fig. 24 - 42.

Make sure that Brush Holder Assembly on
the alternator is in the correct position.
Refer to Fig. 24 - 43.

Install the Brush Holder Assembly with
screws R1, R2, R3, and T2.
Refer to Fig. 24 - 44.
Use fastening torque 1.6 – 2.3 Nm for
R1, R2, R3, and terminal screw T2 with
fastening torque 9 - 13 Nm.

Put the black plastic cover of the alternator
on the alternator backside.
The plastic protective cover of alternator revision E4A-91-400-000-001 and lower is
not interchangeable with the plastic protective cover of alternator E4A-91-400-000-
002 / E4A-91-400-000-AA.1 and higher.

Turn down the Torx screws or hexagon
nuts (depending on the screwing) G and
G2.
Refer to Fig. 24 - 45.
Use fastening torque 1.6 – 2.3 Nm.
Use fastening torque 2.7 – 3.8 Nm.

Turn down the nut of W (mounted above
R1).
