B. Install the Alternator
Detail Steps/Work Items
Key Items/References
(1)
Carefully install the alternator on the
alternator bracket.
Refer to Fig. 24 - 28.
Torque 20 Nm
(2)
Install the alternator bracket on the
engine.
(3)
Connect the excitation line marked with
“GEN” to L terminal of the alternator.
The fastening torque for the lock nut is
2.7 Nm – 3.8 Nm.
Make sure that the black plastic cover is on the
lock nut.
Refer to Fig. 24 - 29 and Fig. 24 - 30.
(4)
Connect the power line to the B+
terminal.
Fastening torque 11-13 Nm.
(5)
Put the white dust seal of the excitation
line over the black plastic cover of the
lock nut.
Refer to Fig. 24 - 31.
(6)
Install the V-Ribbed belt.
Refer to Section 85-40-00 Paragraph 1.B.
(7)
Examine the V-Ribbed belt for correct
installation.
(8)
Connect the main battery.
Refer to the applicable Aircraft Maintenance
Manual.
(9)
Do an engine ground run.
Refer to Section 71-00-01.
The output voltage of the alternator must be
between 27V DC and 29V DC.
