C. Remove the spur gear from High Pressure Pump

Key Items/References
(1)
Remove the hexagon nut from the drive shaft.
Use the counter torque wrench
AE300T-012-1 or AEP-00379-000.
(2)
Remove the spur gear from the drive shaft.
Refer to Fig. 73 - 18.
(3)
Visually examine the spur gear for:
- Teeth missing/broken
- Visible cracks
- Corrosion
- Other damages.
Use a magnifying glass.
The teeth flanks may show light wear (polished surfaces) and sporadic
traces of oil lacquer. These are signs of correct operation.
