01-00-00 Introduction
1. General
This Maintenance Manual contains all necessary instructions for continued airworthiness of the E4
engine series. It contains a description of the systems, troubleshooting procedures, component
removal and installation procedures, and maintenance instructions.
The Maintenance Manual describes how to do the preventive maintenance of the E4 engine
series.
For special removal and installation procedures from the aircraft manufacturer, refer to the
applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manual.
Unless stated differently, only new or overhauled parts, if applicable, shall be used in
case of replacement acc. to this manual.
The aircraft engine must be maintained and repaired in accordance with the instructions given in
this manual, unless otherwise approved under consideration of the applicable national
requirements.
It is necessary to read this instructions attentive and carefully. To grant a correct engine
operation and to obtain the maximum service life, all given work steps must be obeyed.
With the publication of the Maintenance Manual, Austro Engine GmbH ensures the correctness
of the instructions. Austro Engine GmbH will inform about changes with Service Bulletins,
Service Letters or manual amendments, as necessary.
The following manuals also contain information related to Maintenance or Instructions for
Continued Airworthiness.
The engine operating information and the description of the engine are given in the Operation
Manual E4.01.01 for model E4 and Operation Manual E4.01.02 for model E4P.
The engine overhaul instructions are given in the Overhaul Manual E4.12.01.
The gearbox repair instructions are given in the Gearbox Repair Manual E4.08.16 and overhaul
instructions are given in the Gearbox Overhaul Manual E4.12.02.
