4. Gearbox
A. Remove the Gearbox
Put a container with minimum 3 liters below
the gearbox drain plug.
Open the gearbox filler plug.
Open the gearbox magnetic drain plug.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 17 and Fig. 85 - 20.
Refer to the applicable Aircraft
Maintenance Manual.
Disconnect the electrical connector marked
“GOV” from the governor solenoid.
Secure the connector and the socket
with a cap.
Remove the pressure line from the governor,
if installed before.
Refer to the applicable Aircraft
Maintenance Manual.
Disconnect the electrical connector marked
“GBTS” from the gearbox temperature
sensor.
Secure the connector and the socket
with a cap.
Disconnect the electrical connector
“CTS_GPC” from the coolant temperature
sensor.
Only for “-A” engine configuration, if
the gearbox has an optional oil cooler
installed.
Remove all edge clips of the cable branch for
the crankshaft sensor.
Remove the engine starter.
Refer to Section 80-10-00 Paragraph
2.A.
Remove the lock-wire from the hose clamps.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 22 and Fig. 85 - 23.
Loosen the screws from the hose clamps at
the connecting hose.
Remove the coolant hose from the gearbox
hose connector, which connects the gearbox
and the (cabin air) heat exchanger.
Refer to the applicable Aircraft
Maintenance Manual.
Install the forward engine-lifting eyelet, if not
installed before.
Lift the engine with slings on the forward
lifting eyelet and apply slow force.
Open and remove the right and left front
engine mounts.
Refer to the applicable Aircraft
Maintenance Manual.
