Keyer Operation
Using Keyer Control and Actions
The type of Keying required is selected using the buttons below.
Full - The Fill is a full layer over the background hiding it completely.
Linear - Selects a Linear Key (see the first section of this chapter).
Luma- Selects a Luma Key (see the first section of this chapter).
Invert - Inverts the Key signal so that the parts, which were Keyed off, become Keyed on and
vice versa.
DVE - this will turn the DVE functionality “On/Off” if the Key is selected in the DVE Allocation
menu.
Matt Fill - when this function is selected the Key layer is filled with a Matte. The color of the
matte is determined by the Matte Select parameter.
Coupled key - (Latching) Uses the Fill and Key sources allocated to the crosspoint.
Split Key - (Momentary) Allows the Fill and Key sources to be split across two different
crosspoints. The Fill is selected on the Key bus in the normal manner. The Key source is that
allocated to the crosspoint selected on the Key bus with the Split Key button pressed and held
down. When in Dual Tile Mode the Xpt selection for each tile can either be done using the Split
key button.
Self Key - (Latching) In Coupled Key mode Self Key causes the Key, as well as the Fill, to be
derived from the Fill source allocated to the crosspoint, also known as a Video Key.
In Split Key mode Video Key causes the Key to be derived from the Fill source of the crosspoint
used as the split away.
The “Actions” buttons determine the actions of a Key layer when using Key Transition.
Cut On Auto Off - this will immediately cut the Key layer On, then “Mix” the Key layer off
depending on the time set by the “Mix Time” parameter.
Auto On Cut Off - this will “Mix” the Key layer On depending on the time set by the “Mix Time”
parameter, then cut the Key layer Off.
Auto On/Auto Off - this will “Mix” the Key layer On/Off depending on the time set by the “Mix
Time” parameter.
Cut - this will cut the Key layer On on the first touch, then Off on the second touch.
Auto - this will “Mix” the Key layer On on the first touch, then Off on the second touch
depending on the time set by the “Mix Time” parameter.
On/Off - this will turn the Key layer On or Off. Like touching one of the top row of Key buttons
on the control surface.
