Bgnd DVE and Mixer DVE
Bgnd DVE and Mixer DVE
In the “Mixer” menu there are two kinds of DVE; “Bgnd DVE” and “Mixer DVE”.
The Mixer DVE resizes the OUTPUT of the background mixer over the Util Bus, so background
wipes and mixes from Program to Preset (A to B) are all within the resized tile. Also the preview
output will show the transition next state resized over the Util Bus. This would be typically used
for Background transitions in a resized box.
The Bgnd DVE resizes Program (A Bus) and the Preset (B Bus) independently, typically Program
over Preset over Util Bus. When using DVE in this function there are NO background mixes or
wipes. Bgnd DVE would typically be used for squeeze type effects, squashing and/or moving
program and sliding on resized preset in the corner etc.
If the “Bgnd DVE” and the “Mixer DVE” buttons are grayed out and you touch the {DVE
Allocation} button, a dialog box will appear with the following message:
This tells you that the Background DVE is not enabled. You have to go to the Eng Config -
System Config menu to enable the Background DVE.
