5. 3. 1 The Route’s Routing Functions
The route is allocated the following outgoing routing functions:
• Routing an outgoing call to one or more trunk groups
• Restricting the number of calls outgoing simultaneously
• Polling an external digit barring
• Deleting the exchange access prefix
• Adding a prefix to the call number (where required)
• Specifying numbering plan identifier NPI
• Specifying how many digits need to be dialled before a call is set up
5. 3. 2 Routing an Outgoing Call to a Trunk Group
Up to 8 trunk groups can be entered per route. Within a route the bundles are seized
from front to back (small numbers first); within the bundle, the network interfaces from
back to front (large numbers first). The seizure sequence is illustrated graphically in
Fig. 53
.
