the format of the data signal. The CSU part of the DSU/CSU manages electrical levels and isolation, and
provides loopback to the TELCO. A RuggedCom DDS port provides an integrated DTE, DSU, and CSU.
23.4.1. DDS Configuration
To configure DDS, you must first enable the WAN interface supporting DDS. See Section 23.4.1.1,
“Enabling the DDS WAN Interface”.
Under /interface/wan{wan slot and port}/dds you can configure the following:
• set the DDS parameters. See Section 23.4.1.2, “Setting DDS Parameters”.
• set the DDS PPP connection parameters. See Section 23.4.1.3, “Setting DDS PPP Connection
Parameters”.
• set the DDS frame relay and DLCI parameters. See Section 23.4.1.4, “Setting DDS Frame Relay
Parameters”.
Under interfaces/wan, you can also:
• view and clear DDS statistics. See Section 23.4.2, “Viewing and Clearing DDS Statistics”.
• perform a DDS loopback test. See Section 23.4.1.5, “Performing a DDS Loopback Test”.
23.4.1.1. Enabling the DDS WAN Interface
Before setting DDS parameters, you must first enable the WAN interface supporting DDS.
To enable the WAN DDS interface:
• In edit mode, navigate to /interface/wan{wan slot and port}.
• On the Enable Wan Interface form, select Enabled.

• Commit the changes.

To set DDS parameters, enter edit mode and navigate to /interface/wan{wan slot and port}/dds/
ddsparams.
