85-Maintenance Procedures
Measure the height mean value of the rivet
heads.
The height of the rivet heads left
must not be less than 1.4 mm.
Therefore, measure at minimum four
of the eight rivet heads.
If the heights mean value is less
than 1.4 mm, the two-mass flywheel
is unserviceable.
Examine the clearance between the primary
and the secondary mass for signs of wear
caused by friction.
If you find signs of wear at the
surface of the primary mass caused
by friction of the secondary mass,
replace the two-mass-flywheel.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 53.
Examine the cover of the spring-cage for
dents.
If the cover of the spring-cage is
damaged, replace the two-mass-
flywheel.
Examine the two-mass flywheel for grease
leakage.
ï‚· If you find small signs of grease
leakage, it is not necessary to
replace the two-mass flywheel.
ï‚· If you find large signs of grease
leakage, replace the two-mass
flywheel.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 55.
Examine the centering pins for damage and
wear.
ï‚· If one or the two centering pins
are damaged, replace the two-
mass flywheel and the hub.
Make sure that the centering pins are in the
correct position.
The centering pins must come out of
the secondary mass between 3 mm
and 6 mm.
If one or the two centering pins:
ï‚· come out of the hub more than
the tolerance
ï‚· do not move freely in the hub
ï‚· are loosened
ï‚· cannot be found
Replace the two-mass flywheel and
the hub.
Refer to Fig. 85 - 57.
If the friction ring is not in the correct position, this can cause damage to
the ring when the two-mass flywheel is installed at the test rig for the
mechanical inspection. Refer to Fig. 85 - 59.
