Resuming BitLocker functionality
If BitLocker Drive Encryption has been suspended for maintenance purposes
(see "Suspending BitLocker functionality" on page 87), it has to be reenabled
to complete the service task.
â–¶
If applicable, ask the system administrator to enter the recovery key in order
to boot the OS.
If BitLocker Drive Encryption has been suspended prior to replacing
components you won't be asked for a recovery key when rebooting
the server after the maintenance task. However, if BitLocker
functionality has not been suspended, Windows will enter recovery
mode and ask you to input recovery key for further booting.
â–¶
Ask the system administrator to enable the previously suspended BitLocker
protection on the system volume, using the BitLocker Drive Encryption
control panel item:
â–¶
Click
Start - Control Panel - System and Security - BitLocker Drive
Encryption to open the BitLocker Drive Encryption.
â–¶
Select the system volume, and click Resume Protection.
