NOTICE
If you turn the Prog/Run key and nothing happens, press RESET repeatedly until the
SmartPAC 2 changes modes. To prevent this problem, before you turn the Program/Run
key, make sure SmartPAC 2 is in the main menu for the mode it is in. If it is not, press
RESET repeatedly until the main menu appears.
1. Make sure there is no die in the press.

Turn the Program/Run key toward Prog.

Power up the SmartPAC 2 and the WPC. The green “Power” light on the SmartPAC 2
front panel illuminates. A red “SmartPAC 2” screen appears for a few seconds. Then the
display goes off and the brake warning light flashes about every two seconds while
SmartPAC 2 completes its startup routine, which can take up to one minute. Finally, the
Main Program menu appears (next figure).
• If the SmartPAC 2 does not start up correctly, go to the next section, “Problems as
Startup,” page 98.
