To the right of the SmartPAC 2 display are eight “Function keys,” also called “F keys.” In
some screens you will be instructed to press function keys, also known as “F keys,” to
perform certain tasks. The instructions on the display will tell you which function key to
press, F1 through F8. The small rectangle next to each function key contains a descriptive
label if the key is currently active.
In Run mode you can program function keys as “Hot keys” to give you quick access to
frequently-used screens. Identify Hot keys in the main Run menu screen by the red border
around their descriptive labels. See the next section for more information about Hot keys,
and see “How to Use Hot Keys,” page 327, for detailed instructions on using them.
In most of the screens in Run mode you can press F8 to return to the main Run menu.
NOTICE
If you have the Bilingual Spanish/English option, F1 is reserved for changing between the
languages in Run mode, and cannot be used as a Hot key.
