a Test the motor (staple finisher elevator).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
MOTOR TESTS > Staple Finisher Motor Tests > Elevator
b Check if the bin is properly moving.
Is it properly moving?
Go to step 9. Go to step 8.

a Reseat the cable on the motor.
b Make sure that the motor is properly installed.
c Check the motor and cable for damage, and replace if necessary. See
“Motor (staple finisher elevator) removal” on page 250.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 9. The problem is solved.
Step 9
a Make sure that the elevator belts, gears, and springs are properly
installed.
b Check the parts for wear or damage, and replace if necessary.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 10. The problem is solved.
Step 10
a Make sure that the bin stack height actuator and springs are properly
installed.
b Check the parts for damage, and replace if necessary.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 11. The problem is solved.
Step 11
a Make sure that the bin stack height solenoid is properly installed.
b Check the solenoid for damage, and replace if necessary. See “Staple
finisher bin stack height solenoid removal” on page 235.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 12. The problem is solved.
Step 12
a Make sure that the sensor (staple finisher bin stack height) and sensor
(staple finisher bin level) are properly installed.
b Make sure that the sensors are free of debris or dust.
c Reseat the cable on the sensors. Check the cables for damage, and
replace if necessary.
d Check the sensors for damage.
Are they free of damage?
Go to step 13. Go to step 14.
