Step 1
a Make sure that the hole punch box is properly installed.
b Reseat the interface cable that is plugged into the printer.
c Reset the printer.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 2. The problem is solved.
Step 2
a Test the sensor (hole punch box full, receive).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
SENSOR TESTS > Staple and Hole Punch Finisher Sensor Tests >
Chad bin full
b Toggle the sensor.
Does the sensor status change while toggling the sensor?
Go to step 3. Go to step 4.
Step 3
a Remove the punch unit. See “Punch unit removal” on page 365.
b Make sure that the sensor (hole punch box full, transmit) and sensor
(hole punch box full, receive) are properly installed.
c Make sure that the sensors are free of debris or dust.
d Reseat the cable on the sensors.
e Check the cable for damage, and replace if necessary.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 4. The problem is solved.
Step 4
a Make sure that the hole punch box full sensor actuator is properly
installed.
b Check the actuator and sensor holder for damage, and replace if
necessary. See
“Sensor (hole punch box full) removal” on page 366.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 5. The problem is solved.
Step 5
Check the sensor (hole punch box full, transmit) and sensor (hole punch
box full, receive) for damage, and replace if necessary. See
“Sensor (hole
punch box full) removal” on page 366.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 6. The problem is solved.
