Step 1
a Remove any debris from under the booklet maker aligner jam access
cover.
b Reseat the interface cable that is plugged into the SHPF.
c Reset the printer.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 2. The problem is solved.
Step 2
a Make sure that the sensor (HPBF bin empty, transmit) and sensor
(HPBF bin empty, receive) are properly installed.
b Make sure that the sensors are free of debris or dust.
c Reseat the cable on the sensors. Check the cables for damage, and
replace if necessary.
d Check the sensors for damage.
Is the sensor free of damage?
Go to step 3. Go to step 4.
Step 3
a Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
SENSOR TESTS > Hole Punch Booklet Finisher Sensor Tests >
Bin empty
b Toggle the sensor.
Does the sensor status change while toggling the sensor?
Go to step 5. Go to step 4.
Step 4
Replace the sensor. See
“HPBF lower left cover sensors removals” on
page 347.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 5. The problem is solved.
Step 5
a Make sure that the HPBF bin is properly installed.
b Check the bin for damage, and replace if necessary.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 6. The problem is solved.
Step 6
a Reseat the cable J14 on the booklet maker controller board.
b If applicable, reseat the junction connectors on the cable.
c Make sure that the cable does not block the path of moving parts.
d Check the cable for damage, and replace if necessary.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 7. The problem is solved.
