a Reseat the cable on the motor.
b Make sure that the motor is properly installed.
c Check the motor and cable for damage, and replace if necessary. See

a Make sure that the sensor (SHPF diverter cam) is properly installed.
b Make sure that the sensor is free of debris or dust.
c Reseat the cable on the sensor. Check the cable for damage, and
replace if necessary.
d Check the sensor for damage.
Is the sensor free of damage?
Go to step 6. Go to step 7.

a Make sure that the diverter cam sensor encoder is properly installed.
b Check the encoder for damage, and replace the if necessary. See “SHPF
diverter cam removal” on page 391.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 7. The problem is solved.

Replace the sensor. See
“Sensor (SHPF diverter cam) removal” on
page 392.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 8. The problem is solved.
Step 8
a Make sure that the belts and gears connected to the motor are
properly installed.
b Check the belts and gears for wear or damage, and replace if
necessary. See
“SHPF—Transport section 2” on page 581.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 9. The problem is solved.
Step 9
a Rotate the two knobs on the SHPF and check the following rollers for
proper rotation:
Entrance roller
Diverter feed roller
Top bin exit roller
b Check the ball bearings for wear or damage, and replace if necessary.

section 4” on page 587.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 10. The problem is solved.
