a Remove the top inner and rear covers.

c Test the motor (SHPF feed) and motor (SHPF transport).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
Motor Tests > Staple and Hole Punch Finisher Motor Tests >

d Check if the belts, gears, and rollers are properly moving.
Are they properly moving?
Go to step 9. Go to step 8.
Step 8
a Reseat the cable on the motors.
b Make sure that the motors are properly installed.
c Check the motors and cables for damage, and replace if necessary.

Does the problem remain?
Go to step 9. The problem is solved.
Step 9
a Rotate the two knobs on the SHPF, and check the following rollers for
proper rotation:
• Diverter feed roller
• Top bin exit roller
• Top bin transport roller
b Make sure that the rollers are free of debris or dust.
c Check the rollers and ball bearings for wear or damage, and replace if
necessary. See
“SHPF—Transport section 3” on page 585.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 10. The problem is solved.
Step 10
a Make sure that the belts and gears connected to the motors and rollers
are properly installed.
b Check the belts and gears for wear or damage, and replace if
necessary. See
“SHPF—Transport section 2” on page 581.

Go to step 11. The problem is solved.
Step 11
a Check the top jam access door for damage, and replace if necessary.
