Replace the sensor. See

Does the problem remain?
Go to step 5. The problem is solved.
Step 5
a Make sure that the booklet gate jam access door and SHPF jam access
door are properly installed.
b Check the doors for damage, and replace if necessary. See “Booklet
gate jam access door removal” on page 340 and “SHPF jam access
door removal” on page 342.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 6. The problem is solved.
Step 6
a Remove the top inner and rear covers.
b Bypass the front door switch.
c Test the motor (SHPF feed) and motor (SHPF transport).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
Motor Tests > Staple and Hole Punch Finisher Motor Tests >
Feed or Exit
d Check if the belts, gears, and rollers are properly moving.
Are they properly moving?
Go to step 9. Go to step 7.
Step 7
a Reseat the cable on the motors.
b Make sure that the motor is properly installed.
c Check the motor and cable for damage, and replace if necessary. See
“Motor (SHPF feed) removal” on page 356 and “Motor (SHPF
transport) removal” on page 356.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 8. The problem is solved.
Step 8
a Rotate the two knobs on the SHPF, and check the booklet maker pre-
feed roller and compiler feed roller for proper rotation:
b Make sure that the rollers are free of debris or dust.
c Check the rollers and ball bearings for wear or damage, and replace if
necessary. See
“SHPF booklet maker pre-feed roller removal” on
page 421 and “SHPF compiler feed roller removal” on page 453.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 9. The problem is solved.
