71 -Maintenance Procedures
Unless specified differently, the installation instructions are the same for all
versions of E4 engine wire harness E4A-95-000-000 and E4B-95-000-000.
Attach the harness with the main clamp on
the cylinder head.
The wiring harness has red markings as an installation aid.
These markings with red tape show the attachment points of the harness.
Make sure the distance between the wiring
harnesses is sufficient.
This will prevent harness chafing.
Position A (main clamp) -> red tape winded over the three common
routed branches of wiring harnesses. Refer to Fig. 71 - 40.
Position B (high pressure rail) ->red tape winded over the single wiring
harness routed parallel to the rail.
Refer to Fig. 71 - 41.
Install the main clamp in the Position A.
The angle of the clamp must be
parallel to the engine head fins.
Install the pigtail from the rail pressure
sensor with the screw on the lifting eyelet.
Tighten the screw that attaches the main
clamp on the lifting eyelet.
The red marking of the harness must be fully covered by the main clamp
[02].
Make sure there is sufficient distance
between harness and cylinder head.
Refer to Fig. 71 - 43 and Fig. 71 - 44.
Bend the harness by 90°.
The harness must be in parallel to the
cylinder head/rail.
If you can see the harness red marking,
correct the harness position.
After the main clamp (Position A), the
harness must be parallel to the high
pressure rail, in the direction of the
second red mark, at the end of the
high pressure rail (area of high
pressure rail/rail pressure sensor RPS).
Refer to Fig. 71 - 41.
Attach the harness on the rail with a cable
tie.
