4 Remove the new toner cartridge out of the box and shake it from side to side before
removing it out of the bag.
5 Hold the toner cartridge by its
handle and slide it into the machine
until it comes to a stop.
Note • Be sure to insert the toner
cartridge into the machine
until it clicks into place.
6 Close the front cover.
Note • A message will be displayed and the machine will not operate if the front cover is not
completely closed.
Replacing the Drum Cartridge
When it is time to replace the drum cartridge, a message appears on the display. When
the message appears, contact our Customer Support Center.
If you continue to use the machine without replacing the cartridge after the message
appears, the machine will stop and copying or printing will no longer be possible when
the number of printed/copied pages reaches about 4,000.
Important • The use of drum cartridges not recommended by Fuji Xerox may impair quality and
performance. Use only drum cartridges recommended by Fuji Xerox.
Note • Do not expose drum cartridges to direct sunlight or strong light from indoor fluorescent
lighting. Do not touch or scratch the surface of the drum cartridge. Doing so may result in
unsatisfactory printing.
• Used drum cartridges require proper disposal. Return all used toner cartridges to our
Customer Support Center.
• Replace the drum cartridge while the machine is switched on. If you switch the machine off,
all information stored to the machine's memory will be erased.
• The number of copies that can be printed is for when A4 is used.
• The number of copies that can be printed is only an estimate and varies depending on the
image type, paper size, paper type, and the machine usage environment.
• After the "Please order a new xxx drum (AX) (Maintenance Request)" appears, image may
not print properly.
