a Remove the rear cover.
b Bypass the front door switch.
c Test the motor (SHPF elevator).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
MOTOR TESTS > Staple and Hole Punch Finisher Motor Tests >
Elevator
d Check if the elevator is moving properly.
Is it moving properly?
Go to step 16. Go to step 15.

a Reseat the cable on the motor.
b Make sure that the motor is properly installed.
c Check the motor and cable for damage, and replace if necessary.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 16. The problem is solved.

a Make sure that the sensor (SHPF elevator position) is properly
installed.
b Make sure that the sensor is free of debris or dust.
c Reseat the cable on the sensor. Check the cable for damage, and
replace if necessary.
d Check the sensor for damage, and replace of necessary. See “Sensor
(SHPF elevator position) removal” on page 361.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 17. Go to step 18.

a Make sure that the elevator drive gears, elevator motor encoder, and
encoder belt are properly installed.
b Check the parts for damage, and replace if necessary.

b Check the belts and gears for wear or damage, and replace if
necessary. See
