a Test the motor (booklet maker aligner).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
MOTOR TESTS > Booklet Maker Motor Tests > Stopper
b Check if the belts, gears, and rollers are moving properly.
Are they moving properly?
Go to step 7. Go to step 5.
Step 5
a Reseat the cable on the motor.
b Make sure that the motor is properly installed.
c Check the motor and cable for damage, and replace if necessary.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 6. The problem is solved.
Step 6
a Remove the booklet maker aligner assembly. See “Booklet maker
aligner assembly removal” on page 496.
b Make sure that all the parts are properly installed.
c Check the parts for wear or damage, and replace the parts if necessary.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 7. The problem is solved.
Step 7
a Remove the middle frame brace.
b Test the motor (booklet maker tamper).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
MOTOR TESTS > Booklet Maker Motor Tests > Tamper
c Check if the belts, gears, and rollers are moving properly.
Are they moving properly?
Go to step 9. Go to step 8.
Step 8
a Reseat the cable on the motor.
b Make sure that the motor is properly installed.
c Check the motor and cable for damage, and replace if necessary. See
“Motor (booklet maker tamper) removal” on page 492.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 9. The problem is solved.
Step 9
a Test the sensor (booklet maker tamper home).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
SENSOR TESTS > Hole Punch Booklet Finisher Sensor Tests >
Tamper home
b Toggle the sensor.
Does the sensor status change while toggling the sensor?
Go to step 12. Go to step 10.
