b Make sure that the sensor is free of debris or dust.
c Reseat the cable on the sensor. Check the cable for damage, and
replace if necessary.
d Check the sensor for damage.
Is the sensor free of damage?

a Make sure that tampers, tamper racks, and tamper drive gears are
properly installed.
b Check the tamper parts for wear or damage, and replace if necessary.

Go to step 13. The problem is solved.
Step 13
a Make sure that the bifold roller springs and bifold roller arms are
properly installed.
b Check the springs and arms for damage, and replace if necessary. See
“Bifold roller springs removal” on page 480.

Go to step 14. The problem is solved.
Step 14
a Make sure that the bifold rollers are free of debris or dust.
b Make sure that the rollers are properly installed.
c Check the rollers for wear or damage, and replace if necessary. See
“Bifold upper roller removal” on page 506 and “Bifold lower roller
removal” on page 509.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 15. The problem is solved.
Step 15
a Remove the middle frame brace.
b Test the motor (bifold knife).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
MOTOR TESTS > Booklet Maker Motor Tests > Center fold knife
c Check if the belts, gears, and rollers are moving properly.
Are they moving properly?
Go to step 17. Go to step 16.
