NTP-008: Circuit Order 365-575-102
Page 2 of 12 Issue 8.0, July 2002
NOTE:
Only use this procedure to add a new FT-2000 add/drop-rings terminal
to an in-service 2-fiber ring network. If the installation of the new
terminal has not been completed (including circuit pack installation),
notify the installation personnel or refer to 365-575-115 and/or to
365-565-500 (FT-LBA) to complete the installation.
!
CAUTION:
If the ring already has NPPA provisioned or is carrying OC-12c
services —then the new node must be equipped with STS-1 capable
circuit packs. Otherwise, a service outage may result.
!
CAUTION:
Incorrect setting of the timing option could result in a service interruption
in certain applications. Be certain that the timing option for the new bay
is set to be consistent with the rest of the ring and to be consistent with
the intended application. The bay defaults to “free running mode” when it
is initially turned up. Provisionable timing options are discussed in
Section 5 of this User/Service Manual.
NOTE:
It is assumed that installation of the new FT-2000 add/drop-rings
terminal with/without FT-LBA has been completed (including circuit pack
installation) for the engineered configuration. It is further assumed that
the new add/drop-rings terminal with/without FT-LBA is powered and
running and that the new fibers have been tested.
